framing-theory

Framing theory (Goffman 1974; Entman 1993)

A frame is a selection of some aspects of a perceived reality made more salient, to promote a particular definition, causal story, moral judgment, or remedy (Entman). The identical facts, framed differently — "95% survive" vs. "5% die" — produce different reception. The frame, not the data, carries the interpretation.

Transfer. For agent-produced content the frame is the actual product; the facts are commodity. Whoever frames first anchors the interpretation the audience defaults to — and default framing is exactly what mid, template-shaped output surrenders. If you let the platform, the competitor, or the reader's prior supply the frame, you have conceded the load-bearing decision. The concrete move: name the problem in your own terms before anyone else does, so every downstream mention (including the engine's summary) inherits your selection-and-salience. Same corpus of facts, but the reader arrives inside your frame.
